Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates
(UAE), and also the largest of seven emirates that together
form this country. Abu Dhabi has a flag of its own,
and also follows the national flag of UAE.
The flag of Abu Dhabi is red in color, with a white canton
on top left side. The width of this flag is one-third
of the hoist, and the length is one-third of the fly.
The national flag of UAE was adopted by Federal Law on December
21, 1971. The flag of United Arab Emirates is often referred
to as the Emirati Flag.
Rectangular in shape, the length of this flag is double
its width. Consisting of four rectangular parts, the
Abu Dhabi/UAE flag has three equal horizontal bands
of green (top), white (middle), and black (bottom).
Area of the UAE flag close to the mast comprises a wider
vertical red band. This band is as wide as half of the
flag's width.
