or busy as the Abu
Dhabi International Airport.
Opened on 31st March 1994 by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the Al Ain International Airport has helped in better handling of the huge influx of air travelers into Abu Dhabi. This airport has actually reduced the passenger burden on the main Abu Dhabi airport.
Most of the traffic at Al Ain International Airport comprises tourists from the Middle Eastern region. And, many of the passengers here are in transit, traveling from Europe to Asia and vice versa.
Al Ain International Airport has done beyond expectations and is expanding steadily to accommodate more number of flights to Abu Dhabi. At present, nine airlines operate out of the airport - Gulf Air, Pakistan International Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Egypt Air, Qatar Airways, Aero Asia International, Air India Express, Shaheen Air International and Sudan Airways.
Al Ain International Airport is located 23 kilometers from the main town of Al Ain. It has all requisite facilities that are meant to aid passengers during their travel to Abu Dhabi.
Passenger facilities at Al Ain International Airport include four check-in counters, proper seating, information desk, round the clock cafeteria, ATMs, car parking, travel agents and cars on hire, etc. The airport also has shuttle service that takes you to different parts of the town.
