Bait Al Wakeel
Located at the edge of the Dubai
Creek, near the abra landing on Deira side, Bait
Al Wakeel is a must visit attraction in Dubai. Built
in 1934 by the late Sheikh Rashid, Bait Al Wakeel is
a fine example of early 20th century architecture. First
of its kind in Dubai, it was first office building in
the emirate dedicated exclusively to administration.
Bait Al Wakeel was completely renovated and restored in 1995, and now houses a museum devoted to Dubai's fishing and maritime traditions. The museum provides its visitors an insight into the fishing and sailing traditions of the emirate.
