Doha Zoo, QatarThe Doha Zoo, Qatar is situated on the Salwa Road which is 20 km away from Doha. Doha zoo is one of the very few Qatar attractions that have been designed, to hold the attention of children.

The zoo is spread over an area of 42 acres. Doha Zoo, Qatar gives you an opportunity to see native species and traditional zoo animals in a more controlled environment.

Doha Zoo, Qatar houses more than 1,500 animals of 150 different species. The zoo has special sections divided to take care of different mammal species. The zoo has an exciting collection of animals, reptiles and birds.

The inhabitants of the zoo include giraffes, elephants, baboons, zebras and many more animals but the main highlight of the Doha Zoo, Qatar is Oryx which now an endangered animal and faces threat of being extinct. Oryx is also the national animal of Qatar.

The Doha Zoo, Qatar also houses a mini amusement park which is an ideal place for family picnics. The zoo opens everyday except Saturday from 2 pm to 7 pm. The entrance fee of the zoo is Qatari Riyal 2 for children and Qatari Riyal 5 for adults. The money collect through admission fee is redirected towards maintaining and developing the Doha Zoo, Qatar.
