Doha
Doha is the capital of Qatar and it is an important
historical, architectural, cultural and commercial place
of the city. Doha is the largest city in Qatar and 80%
of the country's population lives in the city.
The city was built in 1850 and was originally known as Al Bida. Over the years Doha has become the most popular city of Qatar in fact the city is headquarters of the country's largest oil and gas companies.
Doha has fast developed into the most expensive but comfortable city in Qatar. At Qatar you can do anything you like the city offers various activities to keep their tourists busy.
The city has excellent beaches where you can practice water sports in Qatar. You can also try your hand at various sports. The 15th Doha Asian Games has put Qatar on the sports map. Around 10,500 athletes contested in 39 different sports event. Asian Games was one of the best sport events that were organized in Qatar since a very long time.
The city is also home to various other tourist attactions like the Qatar National Museum that displays various islamic artifacts another famous museum is the Ethnographic Museum, Qatar where the traditional lifestyle of people of Qatar is displayed.
You can also go for shopping at various Doha Souks which are traditional shopping centers. Experience of shopping at these souqs is a truly unique and an unforgettable. Most of the souqs are open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
No tour to Qatar is complete unless you visit Doha. Once you visit the city your heart will long for a longer stay in the city.
